General White Horse, a shaman located in Seodaemun
The popular YouTube channel, 'Sorum Channel' (소름채널), known for its horror broadcasts, recently collaborated with a popular YouTuber with 1.68 million subscribers in Vietnam. While they've done several joint broadcasts, this is the first time they've collaborated internationally, outside of Korea!!
Not an abandoned house, but an abandoned hospital.
The oppressive atmosphere of horror is palpable from the filming location itself. Abandoned houses are often avoided by shamans due to inherent risks, so caution is always necessary. With the filming crew and the Double B staff involved in the broadcast needing protection from spirits, General White Horse Shaman is always very sensitive and cautious during filming.
I had a brief conversation with Kim PD of Sorum Channel, and I suggested incorporating a haunted house experience format by inviting subscribers to participate in the broadcast. However, he expressed concerns about crowd control and potential safety hazards, emphasizing the need for caution.
With the rise of individual media, many people are now debuting as broadcasters on YouTube and AfreecaTV, taking advantage of the platforms' accessibility and ease of use. The popularity of YouTubers as a new profession and as a hobby is expected to continue in the future.

General White Horse Shaman, the originator of 'tteokjeong' (떡정) at the Seodaemun fortune-telling shop, has gained recognition as a broadcasting shaman through appearances on various programs, including terrestrial, cable, and home shopping channels. Recently, after relocating to a newly remodeled shrine from their old one, they have welcomed new deities. Consequently, the number of visitors has increased significantly.
Within the shaman community, she is known for her vast network and connections with numerous shamans. When evaluating others, trust is paramount, and General White Horse Bosal has always prioritized loyalty and trust in her relationships. Throughout her life, she has encountered many people who aren't as trustworthy, betraying their loyalty and trust for personal gain. There are very few individuals who remain loyal and committed, but she is one of them.
That's probably why she continues to be so popular and maintain her broadcasting career.
Life presents numerous challenges: financial issues, health problems, family matters, and relationship struggles. In such times, people often turn to religious beliefs for solace. But when those solutions fail, they inevitably seek answers from fortune tellers. While some may dismiss it as superstition or unscientific, ultimately, it's the shaman who is sought as a last resort. It's not fair to criticize or trivialize such practices just because they don't align with one's own beliefs.
Recently, many unbelievable stories have been shared on late-night TV shows, often culminating in individuals seeking help from shamans. While some may doubt the existence of spirits and dismiss it as unbelievable, it's not solely about disbelief or denial. Life often presents truly mysterious occurrences.
During the Sorum Channel broadcast, it was unsettling to see Bosal, who doesn't know any Vietnamese, issue warnings in Vietnamese. Even the on-site translator was too scared to enter the building. General White Horse Bosal continued to speak Vietnamese while possessed, heightening the tension to 100%.
Despite a larger crew than usual, the fear of the unknown remains constant, making everyone more sensitive to the slightest sound.
Those who enjoy horror movies can understand the thrill of experiencing fear vicariously through the video.
While it may not be as intense as the real experience, it provides a sense of vicarious satisfaction and emotional connection to the horror through a shared experience.
That's probably why people watch horror broadcasts. With spring in full bloom, and summer approaching, get ready for some horror broadcasts to beat the summer heat! ^^
